It's a new day.
Last night he rested well until the nurse woke him up to take some nasty tasting chewable tablets to make sur ehe did not have another seizure. They did that three times.
This morning he ate TWO BK Croissants! And has been in much better spirits it seems - a bit more talkative.
He says he is looking forward to Physical Therapy today and hopes to play the Wii.
We hope to be back home this weekend. Cooper is doing his part and we hope the weather will coperate.
Love,
rsc

You guys are very blessed to have such an amazing kid that is doing everything he can to get better. It is definitely a long road ahead but already Cooper is showing more maturity than many adults show in circumstances that are no where near as trying as what he is beginning to go through. All of our thoughts are prayers are with you guys to help pull you and Cooper through this tough time.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! Twice I've attempted to post a comment to last night's entry and for whatever reason I continue to get an error message. Anyway, I'm going to attempt it again here:
ReplyDeleteRon, I'm so glad that you can feel the support from your friends and family. I'm sure there are many others that feel like I do--- heartbroken that I cannot physically be there with you guys. However you being able to feel the love and support coming your way is just another sign that prayers work!
Cooper is an amazing guy with some pretty amazing parents too! I'm really struggling to find the words to express my feelings right now. Please just know how much I love you, I'm praying for you, and you all are constantly in my thoughts.
WOO HOO!!....just the thought of you coming home makes the day seem better. You're right, it's a new day! You will go forward, Cooper will go forward and I know you all will put up a good fight! We will be right here cheering you on! Hope to see you soon.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear the good news! Even if the weather does not play in your favor, you know that your home is waiting and you will be there soon.
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved to hear that Cooper seems to be in better spirits today. I can't even imagine having to go thru what it is that he is and then being able to do it with such ambition. You and Sherry have raised an amazing little man...it must run in the family:)
Please remember to take care of yourselves and that there is still a long road ahead and you will needed more than ever. Try to get some sleep and eat a "real" meal. Hospital food not only usually taste bad but really is not that good for you!
Love you all and thinking of you. Everyday the nurses at work ask me how it is that you are doing...even the doctors!
love always,
V
HOME, what a great word, eh?!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you'll all be back here in Joplin soon and for Christmas. That is certainly something to celebrate! Can't wait to see you guys. I know Cooper doesn't need a big flood of visitors right away, so EVERYONE ELSE, YOU WAIT TO VISIT UNTIL AFTER ME!! :) Ha, ha, I'll wait my turn--it'll be worht the wait! But how good it will be for all of you to be back in your own home where everything feels so comfortable and right. Oh, how we miss you guys and have thought, talked and prayed so much about Cooper, especially since last night. Constantly in our hearts, Cooper, surrounded by love. We will miss you today in Spanish, Cooper. I'm sure we'll talk lots about your, so if you feel your ears burning, it's just 8B and me sending lots of love and thoughts your way! Hope you have a good day, work hard in therapy--I know you will. I'm so proud of you.
Love ya,
Mrs. Black
Cooper,
ReplyDeleteIt was good to hear your voice today. I've never heard such loud and sincere cheering! Thanks so much for the call. It was a boost in our day. The eighth grade is looking forward to praying for you during third hour tomorrow. Both eighth grade classes will be coming together for that and will be sending prayers your way. I can't imagine anything better than coming home. I bet your own bed will feel great! You are an inspiration, keep up the good work!
Mrs. Peterson

Cooper - It was REALLY GREAT talking to you today!! I don't know if you could hear all of the cheers and yelling for you or not, but it was REALLY LOUD with happiness and joy. It was really thoughtful of you. The mood in the whole school was so happy!! Can't wait for you and your mom & dad to be home and get to give you a hug in person. Praying that you continue to get stronger and stronger everyday and that you are home soon!!!! Love and miss you!!
