Another Snow Day

Wow it is really coming down here in KC. We hear it is a snow day in Joplin. Another school day not missed!

You can find out about the weather on the weather channel or weather.com, but this the only place to find out about Cooper!

He had a pretty good night, periods of sleep interrupted by taking meds and having vital signs checked.

PT came in this morning and he did great job walking down the hall with a bit of help. He asked later if he could take another walk today. Yes - PT wants him to take two more walks today.

After PT he sat up in the chair for a while and had some bacon for breakfast.

His respiratory therapy is going well, too - on some breaths he can get the plunger all the way up to the target.

Hoping you have another safe snow day.

  2. Matt, Anna and Tucker Sossamon from WC. Tucker(14) had a brain tumor removed from Childrens this past summer and so far so good. What a wonderful place Childrens is with so much heartache around. The staff we worked with were wonderful.

Cooper has been in our prayers and the prayers of many others. We have been thinking of you all as we have been in your shoes. If you all need anyone to speak with about Coopers situation don't hesitate to give us a call. 417 673-8655 is home.

Tuckers neurosurgeon was Hornig, who was Coopers? Our neurologist is Dr. Cruse, who we are still working with.

God Bless you all and call us if we can help in any way.

  4. We are excited to hear of Coopers progress! Keep up the walking and hope to see you guys here in Joplin, soon! It is trying to spit rain and is very cold, somewhere around 25 degrees, so this will not be good for the road conditions which were already not too good. Stay safe and warm. We are all praying for you guys.

  7. Hey, Cooper, glad to hear you're getting up and around! Maybe you and Mr. Black could race! My money is on you though.
And the bacon? What a great choice! Getting your appetite is another good sign, Cooper, so I'm so happy to hear it. Isn't that kind of funny? All it takes to make us happy is to hear that you're getting out of bed and eating bacon! I'll take it. Hope you keep feeling a little stronger and stronger (and hungrier and hungrier!) each and everyday. Then, before you know it, we'll have our Cooper back with us, right where he belongs! Hope you and your folks have a good night.
    God bless you, Cooper!
    Love,
    Mrs. Black

  11. Hey Cooper,
Glad to hear of another good day- keep it up! As you've read, you're not missing much in Joplin. Just cold weather and a little snow. Not even enough to go sledding. :( Get some rest tonight (if you can) and I'll look forward to reading what you ate for breakfast tomorrow!

  12. Cooper,
I've been talking with your dad keeping up with all that's going on daily.

Pay attention to Uncle Pablo, he knows all the pig stuff (get it)!

The prayers from Washington are pretty much non-stop (I think I've got about half the state praying for you and your parents) as well as few other contacts I have around the country. Hopefully they'll start extending the times between checking the vital signs so you can get better rest, let me know if you need me to come talk with them! Lots of love and constant prayers from the cold and snowy Northwest.
